One of my favorite diy’s
So, I’m working on Alva’s room in the summerhouse. It’s a work in progress, but I want to show you this cabinet we did a while ago. It’s made of an old storm window. Or at least I think that’s what it’s called. In old houses or apartments, or where you don’t have thermo windows, you put in an extra window on the inside, to isolate.
I love these old windows and they work perfectly as a glass door for a diy cabinet.
I don’t have a diy tutorial, but we build a frame for the door (window) and a box with shelves that fitted the frame. It’s not difficult to make. I’ll need to make another one for the bathroom, so I’ll make a tutorial, If you’re interested.
We have actually made three cabinets. I’ll show them later this week. I was lucky to find the windows on DBA.dk (it’s Danish). If you reside outside Denmark, try to search for old windows for sale in your neighbourhood. I bought them of this guy, who was selling his farm, and he was decluttering the barn before it went on the market.
The cabinet in Alva’s room is painted a light pink color. I don’t know if I have the NCS color code, but I’ll add it, if I find it.
